What's blocking your product growth?

You've outgrown your MVP

Woman headshot - founder of studio

Your developers got you across the finish line...but building features ≠ designing intutive experiences.

When devs (Or non-UX centric teammates) are forced to do both, the overall product experience suffers and rework piles up.

Most MVPs are built for the “ideal” workflow — and that’s exactly what you needed to validate your concept.

But now that you’ve got traction, desire, and a real market opportunity, it’s time to stress-test your product.

What happens when a user makes a mistake? What happens when they take a different path than you expected? What happens when your product has to scale to dozens, hundreds, thousands of users?

Right now, your product is only as strong as its happy path.

Without UX design, the cracks show fast: confused users, growing support tickets, and wasted dev cycles fixing what could’ve been designed right the first time.

What can you do?

1. Hire a UX or Product Designer
Bring in someone who knows how to translate features into usable, scalable experiences. Free you and your devs to focus on what they do best: shipping code and bringing your vision to life.

2. Factor & Map Your Product Architecture
Stress-test your product before your users do.

Map the objects, relationships, and workflows behind your features so everything holds up when:
- Users take the wrong path
- Teams grow and add more roles
- You scale from dozens to thousands of users

✅ Signs It's Time to Hire a UX Designer

Is your product equipped to pass the stress test?

  1. What happens when a user makes a mistake?

Some UX mistakes are expensive. (Ex. Accidentally, $900 million instead of $7.8mil because of a confusing interace - hey Citi Bank Aug 2020 👀)
  2. What if a really important input is represented insignificant and gets missed?

Some UX mistakes kill people. (Ex. A 2017 An unassuming checkbox locked controls on a ship, causing it to collide into a tanker and 10 people died.)
  3. What happens when users come in and out? When a user leaves a team but is the owner of lots of files, what happens to them? Do they get erased? Do they default get assigned to someone else...but who?
  4. Is your product simple enough to use in a high stress environment?

People use software to solve something for them. If life was perfect, they wouldn't need you. Chances are they are using your product when tehy are stressed, having a bad day, under a lot of pressure and deadlines.

A UX/product-specific expert will be preparing the product to support various use cases.
