This is Part II of the Anele UX Branding Workshop Series. You do not need to attend Part I to participate in this event, but you'll have the option to add-on the recording of the first session.
For a lot of transitioning UX designers, it can feel like you’re starting from scratch. But there’s no job or background where there is absolutely no overlap.
Whether you were a waiter, pilot, student, engineer, even a stay-at-home mom - there are transferrable skills that can be leveraged to use as speaking points to stand out as a UX candidate, and also to make you a stronger UX professional.
"Hi my name is ___, I just graduated from *insert bootcamp name* and I have a passion for storytelling and being empathetic."
Sound familiar? We've all been guilty at one point or another of defaulting to that introduction. But when's the last time someone introduced themselves to you that way, and you thought... "Wow, that's someone I want to talk to."
Chances are, probably not. With the job market so saturated, you really need to lean into what genuinuely makes you unique. But what if you are just getting started and don't have any UX experience yet? What if you're a career changer from a job that is very different from UX?
This is an interactive workshop where you will walk away with speaking points directly tailored to your career change. You'll get actionable tips to craft your portfolio, Linkedin, elevator pitch, all of the above.
This is Part II in the Anele UX Personal Branding series. Part I is not required, and if you did attend part I "More Than Just Your Work: Personal Branding for UX" it won't be a repeat. This event is specifically interactive with breakout rooms.
Curious what you missed? When you checkout, you can add-on a recording of part I so you have additional context before we get started. Highly recommended to pair both sessions together since they build off each other.

Feedback from past attendees of workshops in this series:
- "Elena will give it to you straight! If you're looking for someone who will filter out the noise and help you gain extreme clarity on your mission and values as a designer, look no further. Elena created space for me as an attendee to explore what I care about and what drives me, which makes her session one of most memorable I've been to. I can't recommend her workshops enough and am looking forward to the next one!"
- The personal branding workshop I attended was incredibly eye-opening. I came in not really knowing what to expect, but by the end of it, I had a clear and concise understanding of what my personal brand was and how to effectively communicate it. The exercises and tips provided were practical and applicable, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to take control of their personal brand.I loved todays session! Despite getting a lot of feedback from other ux designers in the past, today I learned what was truly holding my portfolio back."
Elena made great points in regards to revamping our personal brand as designers. She gave in-depth examples of what our LinkedIn and portfolios should reflect about us. She gave personal illustrations by showcasing her own work while providing insight into how she grew from the start of her career to now. Seeing the growth she made in her own portfolio, made her seminar relatable for new UX designers starting out. "
I appreciated how straightforward the talk was. I was able to take away very concrete do's and don'ts that I will apply to my personal brand. I was embarrassed to make some of the mistakes but grateful that I can change those now!"
