coverage without the headache

I know there are some big shoes to fill. Although I'm a size 6, I'm happy to wear really, really, thick socks.

I'm a freelance senior UX & Product designer with lots of experiencing embedding myself on other teams across various industries including insurance, cyber security, pipeline integrity, e-commerce, health literacy + more!

I both freelance and have a UX Studio (that's this website, technically - but it's all my work). I still love to hop onto contract roles and see how other teams operate.

It can be tough for teams to get new people up to speed quickly, and I use a few exercises that make that process super quick and very thorough to collect requirements and knowledge transfer. I've actually done a maternity coverage gig at EPIX (testimonial by Miguel Blanco at bottom), so I know how to embed myself seamlessly onto an in-house team.

big sucker for intuitive design and mission-oriented business.

My north star is to create designs so intuitive that customers think you can mind reads - Which is the result of one, taking the user research and testing seriously, and two making sure there is alignment within the team.

My super power is called "Object Oriented UX" which is a special step I use to better understand all the requirements, decrease scope creep, collaborate early on in the sprint - especially devs and design.

Of course, I'm flexible and adaptive to whatever processes your team uses and I can chameleon as needed. But I wanted to share because that's something that has changed the way I think about product design.

I absolutely love mission of financial health and protecting people from predatory practices. I'm always looking for ways to equip folks with tools to advocate for themselves. I run a pro-bono 8-week UX mentorship career program for Jr. UX designers, and run a passion project called Converge, to support recent college grads transition after school.

Elena's one in a million. She came on as an Interaction designer and quickly became a key resource for the team and the project.  She proved to be a reliable designer, leading voice and educator for both onboarding designers and stakeholders alike.

I was blown away at how much we were able to uncover in the OOUX workshop. My team was almost ready to launch our web platform for athletic coaches and wanted to be 100% certain we had everything needed. The workshop ensured we laid everything out, dove into the details to discern what was missing, and understood how everything tied together. We were able to identify any gaps and cover them before launch. Plus, the object guide was really helpful to keep the entire team on the same page, especially for those that couldn’t make the workshop.
